Why do people flaunt their suicidal tendencies on social media?

I don't mean people genuinely asking for help. I mean people that just post depressing shit and don't even try to do anything about their issues?

People want someone to share their troubles with, I've been that person who posted depressing stories, it helped me by expressing myself and if you find that someone is willing to give you some advice about it, that has been through the same thing that is wonderful, you don't have to read the depressing posts if you don't want to, I will agree there are some attention getters out there but not all, just the same with old men being gross.

@Footsugar123 THAT is likely true. I agree and think the best place for this sort of thing is the Stories section where hopefully one would get a serious and compassionate reply.
@Abrienda I agree with you there, I suppose they think they might get a better response or faster one on the question section,

@Footsugar123 Yeah, also true...certainly faster if they feel in crisis. But you know and I know what many of the people here are like...I really don't think this is the right place for it.
