I have a friend who is quite happy with her reverse mortgage. But I have known others who were not.
The worst situation I've heard of was an older woman who was the only witness to a murder next door. The girl who did it (murdered her sister) threatened the woman so the woman was afraid to testify because she lived on a reverse mortgage. If the girl wasn't convicted, the woman would still have to live there next to a murderer.
If you wind up needing, or wanting, to move, reverse mortgages can be a problem.
