one of my many hobbies

@akindheart I have a lot of hobbies too. In a week, I'd probably do a little of all of them.

@Serenitree its funny because i have to make myself set aside time to do them. i guilt myself into finishing chores which are NEVER done..☺

@akindheart m terrible at chores. I like my hobbies. I do have a bunch of unfinished pieces of crochet, and paintings. I have a new one to start, as soon as my daughter moves out and gets her own apartment. Her things are all piled up in my craft room.
I have an old aquarium. A leaker. It's still in perfect condition, but the seal on one corner leaks. It still has the lid, with the light. I'm going to buy some glass paints, and paint the inside of the glass, and use the aquarium as an ornamental night light on my coffee table, seeing as I'm no longer using it as a tv stand.

@Serenitree whoa..that is awesome and recycling too! i have piles and piles of yarn and fabric...i lost my sewing room..sigh
Serenitree · F
Where did your sewing room go?
akindheart · 61-69, F
@Serenitree my brother moved into the bedroom. my stuff had to move out..sigh

@akindheart small home? I know what that's like. My daughter moved into my bedroom, which is great because I wasn't using it. I sleep in the living room in a recliner, due to acid reflux and sleep apnea. So she's welcome to my room, but her stuff ended up in my solarium, which I use for my craft table.

@Serenitree yes small house but its mine. i am thinking of building a solarium on my back patio slab for my crafts. it is all designed in my mind..LOL

@akindheart now to find an out of work construction worker who will give you a good deal on the price.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@Serenitree i have one more partial house payment then yes!!!
Serenitree · F
@akindheart never pay up front. Pay for the materials, but not the job. And don't pay by the hour. Pay by the job. Settle on a price, make sure you have all the permits in place, and pay when the work is done. Don't pay until it's been inspected and approved.
I worked for 35 years as a cleaning lady. I saw a lot of clients get rooked by drunks or unscrupulous workers who claimed hours they didn't put in. Shoddy work. One family paid a so called roofer up front and not only did they not do the job, they pulled half the old roof off, and then they left. Taking all of the materials with them and disappearing. Turned out they weren't registered as roofers, or anything at all. The company didn't exist, and the people were known to the police as con artists who ripped people off for a living.

@Serenitree I live in the land of unscrupulous contractors. when i redid my home, i paid for the supplies, pulled my own permits and paid when the job was done. thankfully, i knew the contractors personally. not sure who I will hire for this addition
