In evolutionary terms when a woman mated with a man, she needed to know he was productive and would stick around... 5 minutes of mating could threaten her life and her child's. While he could walk away
She needed to be
1) selective in choice of mate
2) be sure he was productive
3) that he was protective
Male trait behaviours were strongly influenced by female selection
So next time the ladies be bitching about their man... time to blame your female ancestors... hehe
