Were you bullied as a kid?

Luckily I wasn't, but I was tested in the 5th grade and in 9th in my new school. The first made threats and jumped me from behind, but didn't expect to be flipped and have her face smashed into concrete several times. People see that kinda thing and know to stay away. The other time an older girl thought her size would scare me off and cornered me in a deep doorway after pushing me with a big crowd of girls surrounding her. I pushed her back and she fell in shock as I told her city girls aren't afraid of big hicks and that she was to stay away from my friend she was bullying or she'd be sorry. Her crowd of friends were laughing at her.

I know violence isn't always the answer, but self defense is when a bully gets physical. My passive kid was bullied for years until he finally did what I told him and the kid and others never attempted it again.

@MellyMel22 I wish I had the courage to respond when it happened to me..but I never knew how. My dad was the biggest pacifist ever and pretty much a pussy...so I didn't know how to respond in situations like that. I just took it. And it made me hate myself for it.

@SW-User My father taught us to always defend ourselves, but never throw the first hit. He also threatened to beat out asses if we didn't defend ourselves if someone put their hands on us. So it wasn't a difficult choice.

I'm sorry it wasn't easy for you.

@MellyMel22Guess you had a better dad than I did. But c'est la vie. Parents are flawed human beings at the end of the day and try their best.
