@SW-User Not really, unless you do not tap. Jiu Jitsu is more effective than Karate or Kung Fu, yet in those styles you get punched or kicked in the face etc. With Jiu Jitsu you tap and it ends....If you dont tap then something may snap (Bone break) or Nap, choke unconscious).

@StevenIzzi I am a advanced blue belt 2 striped in american karate. Just because i took it for so long with my kids!' Lol!!

@StevenIzzi I kinda randomly stumbled upon Kron Gracie and then started researching the lineage. Heard they're legends. Rickson Gracie was one badass mofo 😁

@FunReader55 There is no wrong times to take....I started in TKD and my friend introduced me to BJJ, He took me down at will and I knew I had to change styles. My boys both study as well and my oldest is 11 and has taken since he was 4 1/2 and only lost one match.....He is a beast!!!

@SW-User Well Rickson who in my opinion is the best ever stated that he has won over 400 matches. This has not been proven, but he is a legend. My instructors are amazing, one is a 2nd degree black belt under Master Lloyd Irvin and the other is a 2nd degree under Marcelo Garcia.

@StevenIzzi oh shit. Marcelo Garcia is a legend too apparently. That's sick. I agree, I believe Rickson is the best ever as well. I saw his documentary 'Choke' and it was awesome.

@StevenIzzi thats awesome!! Good for him!! Congrats!! It is alot fun. Im in the sparring class but im a pretty big guy. They are all too fast for me so usually lose but one day im going to get ahold of somebody... then theyre dead!! Lol!!
