Do you rock hunt? And where do you go to look for fossils, gems, stones or minerals?

I found an interesting rock a river near me recently in central Missouri. It just happened to catch my eye and I'm unable to identify it. Any idea what it is?[image]

Nope but I like running across cool rocks and things.
I see it as bad mojo to remove stuff from nature although. Others see it differently.
