how do you mean messed? If it was messed up as in overpaying it is doubtful it would say on the floor very long.
I went to UNLV and spent over 10 years off and on in Las Vegas. Stay at any machine long enough and you will at best win a little, most of the time lose a little with breaking even an occasional thing. Quit at the right time and you can make some money. (Usually given back the next night though.)
Most casinos make real money at their table games but they would not overlook a machine that is overpaying.

The picture was messed up. Could only see part of the screen and it was flickering. I figured I won on that one because maybe most people passed it up. I never win at this crappy casino lol

theres no skill in machines its all just luck.... i play slots online quite a lot but i lose more than i win unfortunately but i just do it for a bit of fun

No, you just got lucky. It happens sometimes . All those machines are meticulously calibrated.
