well. i thnk. at the time the economy was doing gr8. the post war boomwas intense and affcts u horribly today. the middle class had tons of money to spend and everyone belived there was nothing but peace and stuff. but honestly thats a ain factor as to why the us economy is how it is today. the suburbs got intensly opular particlarly cuz veterain benifits i guess so there was a big hing on that. however the issue with it wa all the racism about it being a good white american place to be particularly excluding minorities.alsoooo the heavy sexsm that ws placed on women. media was a big thing and advertised women as oly being good in a kitchen and at home. but sice it was post war and women were more indeendent before they often felt verrrry depednt and unfulfiled honestly. its a big fator for the feminist movement soon later. back to te racism.. the whole segregation thing didnt just revolve arond hms but schools too. familie actively moved thir white children o the suburbs since cities beame a hub for immigrants and minorites looking for work. ros parks was big here. AND OF COURSE theres the whole cold war stuff. the red scare was horrible and anything"unamerican" was practically punished whivh is crazy. people were black listed, people lost homes ad it was all due to the tension in the cold war. this lead to americas very cocky attitude about winning wars and being able to obiverate any enemies particulary communists. also the looong lasting hatred of this differeent set of belifs that actually affects s all and many counries negtively to this day. was, death, losing so many lved ones, struggling economy, and a gret seperation of mindset from generations. i loved the fashion though. this is just my opinion tho
