Scheduled maintenance - Server Upgrades

EDIT - Migration complete. Took less than 1 hour of downtime! 👌🏻
If you find anything not working well after the migration, please let us know!

SimilarWorlds will be temporarily unavailable for approximately 3 hours while we upgrade all our servers to new, more powerful servers.

Scheduled maintenance:
Saturday, August 2nd, 5:00 AM Central Time (11:00 AM Europe/London)

Estimated duration: ~3 hours

This upgrade is part of our ongoing efforts to support our growing community by improving performance, reliability, and our ability to handle increasing traffic and data.

Once the maintenance is complete, all services will return to normal.

@supersnipe Anything you can think of... the file system can crash in the middle of file transfer, for example.

@helenS Most of the stuff is already transferred. The downtime is basically "the switch", which requires transferring the remainder, while no one is using or adding new stuff to the old servers. :) But I agree it's 💯% adventurous!

@helenS If there's redundancy that's a non issue. Unless we consider the astronomically minuscule chance that all the servers independently experience a filesystem corruption at once. Though in any case I guess you just reformat, or swap the disks, and restart the transfer from the beginning
