We want to implement Reactions/Emotions on Similar Worlds at some point.

However, we wonder if including a Dislike/Thumbs Down button would bring us benefits or not.

๐Ÿ‘ โค ๐Ÿคฃ ๐Ÿ˜ฏ ๐Ÿ˜ฅ ๐Ÿ˜ก (๐Ÿ‘Ž)

Do you think we should implement?

If not, why do you think a Dislike button wouldn't be a good idea on Similar Worlds?

Please share your honest feedback!

Thank you.

The more I think about it, I can't see why SW would even consider adding a dislike button.

@fazer1k my thoughts as well
@fazer1k The only thing positive I can think of is:

Users only get a limited amount of ๐Ÿ‘Ž that they can use, - OR

If someone uses too many ๐Ÿ‘Ž they get a penalty ( like a 'time out' or something) - but then that's a negative thing within itself.

Do we have a naughty cornerโณ

@BoobooSnafu Please stop trying to encourage the worst of EP being implemented over here.
@beckyromero I never intended to - I'm sorry that you think so. I was only trying to find the ONLY piece of positive in having one.......and even then I wasn't sure it was any good, as I stated.

I try very much to keep an open mind, and not judge anyone here - well all have opinions. If you had read my other reply to this post you would know my TRUE stance on this idea.

Perhaps if you had.......you may have not been so quick to judge.
But thank you for you comment.........it speaks words.

@BoobooSnafu To clarify, EP used algorithms that in effect allowed users to bully others by downvoting, flagging, etc - the result of which caused the members being targeting in such a way to find that their posts/stories weren't being seen on EP. Oh, they could see them, but no one else could. They could respond to stories/posts, but no one else would see their replies. To the rest of the EP community they became in effect invisible.

Such bullying was often the result of taking offense to one's stance on a political issues, say Obamacare. The bullies operated like wolf packs, targeting all of another member's stories or posts.

You suggested a 'naughty corner.' Over there it was called "EP Jail." Asking mods for help was pointless. Ending up there was mostly AI generated.

I fear SW could do the same thing by counting up "down votes." Once you have a statistic, there are always going to be people thinking up what it could be used for. That is why I asked to stop encouraging the implementation of such a system.
@beckyromero - hence my comment - "then that's a negative thing within itself"..............

@BoobooSnafu Were you a member of EP? You can see from these comments, that I am not alone in warning about the potential abuse.
@beckyromero Yupโค
