We now have further updates to share with you, after receiving lots of feedback, which helps us to understand your likes and dislikes to our recent changes. We have made a number of SW improvements to accommodate our your requests.
If you would like to stop seeing comments in you home feed from particular users only, instead of Muting or Blocking those users, you can now use the "Show Less" option.
How to find this option:Click on the Flag/Report/Mute icon which appears in the user's Comment in the home feed - (We'll likely add this option in profiles very soon as well.)
• Hide your Comments from appearing in Feeds
If you don't want your post comments/replies appearing to others in the home feed, you can use this new privacy feature to prevent that.
https://similarworlds.com/settings-account » Privacy Settings » Allow other members to see your Comments (Latest Replies) in their feed
Please note that Recent Comments did always appear in the home feed even before the recent changes (on desktop version of the site), although not as prominent as they are now.
We understand that some may feel uneasy about their comments appearing in the home-feed, so we have made this feature to resolve this concern some may have.
Having your comments appear in the home feed increases the amount of activity/replies/hearts your comments get, as they will be more often seen by those who may be relevant to you.
Other recent improvements to Similar Worlds:
• Improved Navigation Dropmenus, which now auto-opens upon Hovering.
• Further Dropmenu improvement to support visually impaired users and those who have difficulty with auto-opening menus.
• Friends Only and Friends/Groups now also have the "Comments in Feed" option.
• Show "Edited" date on edited Comments.
• More relevancy of the users we show you in various parts of SW.
• Don't show Blocked users in the Search Friends results when sending a gift, further improving relevancy.
• Display Search box also in the Friends page (previously, it only appeared in the Circle page).
• Multiple Improvements to Scrolling and Navigation on SW.
Thanks for your attention and support! - The SW Team
Thanks for the great updates. I noticed when I go to privacy settings and take the mark off so others cannot see my comments in their home feed and save it, it converts right back to allowing them to see it. The check goes back on.
@JerseyGal Hello. The privacy setting should now save properly. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience.
@Magenta Does this happen while you use the "Everyone" feed? Could you please give me an example of a post that appears, next time this happens? Please feel free to send me a PM with the details. Thank you very much.
@Andrew Thanks for all your great work but beware the “thumbs down” reaction feature. I spent many years at Answerbag which had down ratings and there was no end to the crap that rained down on admin by butthurt users who couldn’t stand their feelers being hurt. Cries of trolling and conspiracy theories on a regular basis. And so incredibly tiresome to see the whining on the boards.
Well that's I would like to see where we can accept or not accept followers and a way to show us who has started to follow us as it is now we just get a notification that someone new is following us we really do not know who. But I could be wrong if there is a way what we see who has started to follow us I would like to know this way. Thanks
@sunni Hello. Thank you for your suggestion. Please read here - https://similarworlds.com/100-Admin-Announcements/1808881-Whiteboard-Feature-on-SW-Hello-SW-Members-We-have
@Nuno thank you and yes i had already voted there. I appreciate the depth of explanation you go to here. And how well you are trying to please all members. Also, your providing members with tools to bypass trolling. Very helpful indeed! I was a deeply rooted member of e.p. for many years. Lol...I was even once crowned 'QUEEN OF EXPERIENCE PROJECT'.. ok. So much for my bragging. Just a big ole thank you for being here. 🌞
@Nuno Sorry to say this Nuno but push notifications are nothing like an app. Personally I purposely have that turned off because it is not like an app. And yes I am on an Android mobile device. Compare push notifications against Facebook's or even lesser known apps and anyone can see the obvious differences.
@DeWayfarer Hello. Sorry, but your reply doesn't really help us understand what's your experience. I, personally, am very happy with the push notifications. If you are not, we want to hear your feedback, but please be more specific about how it is different. Thank you.
