@Musicman I looked up the name of the charity online. Apparently OKC is the headquarters for the charity, where the lady is from. But they do this in a lot of other states too. They have charity fundraisers and it looks like a big deal. The group has been featured in the media but I’d never seen it before, all the links to the news stories that I clicked on had the stories removed. There are a lot of groups doing little giveaways at the center this season. Told Eli it seems like more people want to help and give these days, it’s like Jesus is coming first in spirt already.
@Musicman When we were waiting for chemo lab two days ago a lady came around to everyone and offered breakfast snacks to each person and their family or caretakers. That was a first too. Another group gave a little gift bag to both me and Ray right before Thanksgiving. There are little giveaways at some of the oncologist front reception desks and we can help ourselves, sometimes it’s treats and sometimes it’s pretty stickers to put on water bottles or little crafty things with positive sayings on them. And there is a tall donation barrel on first floor with a sign asking for a list of donations that they give to cancer patients…fuzzy socks for women, men’s socks, hand lotion, lip balm, blankets, journals to write in, word search puzzle books and other things…the barrel has been filled up and nearly overflowing the last few times I’ve been there. Two years ago they would have things in them but not nearly that much.
