Wow the U.S is so divided politically that the two sides cannot have a debate without blaming the other side. If one side says something the other side will go out of their way to find fault or scream fake news. I'm pretty sure as an outside observer (Canada) the whole country has Trump derangement. The people who follow believes he can do no wrong and the rest think he's a nazi
of course, but then the next hurdle is that we can't agree on what is misinformation, e.g., the very purveyors / parrots of misinformation will be the first to say that everything else is the real misinformation
I mean just think about it, before 2016 everyone more likely recognized what "Fake News" was but then once the 5-year-old-in-chief started getting called out on his constant lying, he just started calling legit journalism Fake News too, and now his gullible minions fall for his con, for many years now
and like him, every conspiracy theorist on the planet is going to tell you that objective reality and empirically testable facts are all lies (imagine that), so ultimately statements like "I'm allergic to misinformation" are useless because they don't change the state of things, the reality deniers will continue to live in denial, and the culture warrior curmudgeons will continue to say they will never trust Reuters / The Associated Press / NPR / et al., that they "embellish" the facts or somesuch nonsense — but they absolutely WILL trust Billy Bob on Facebook as the ultimate oracle of "the real truth" (and when these people refuse to disclose their sources on occasion, but instead just trot out the tired retort of "do your own research!" their own research just consists of following BIlly Bob the Anti-Expert, who has zero qualifications in any relevant subject or skill ... it's probably like multi-level marketing, Billy Bob saw a YouTube video, then his followers saw his post, and so forth)
as long as humanity remains stuck at this stage of evolution, we will remained fcked by the reality deniers

Misinformation I can understand, that is often from ignorance. Disinformation on the other hand is deliberate deception, which I have zero tolerance for.
