How should one handle transition from peer to manager in the corporate world?
Especially when some of your colleagues were your friends and don't see you as their manager.

It's hard.
You need to let each person know
a) you're still their friend, but
b) as far as the job goes, bus. comes first.
c) because your job is to attend to "b", you have to be a little removed at work.
d) "if you think I'm being harder on you, please speak up; I need to figure out how to be a manager to my friends"
