Do you make the classic pie? With ground beef or lamb? I made some last winter but the vegetarian kind with plant-based crumble instead of real meat and it was quite good.

@Ontheroad we tend to use mince

@Ontheroad An English friend once told me that lamb is what differentiates Shepherd’s Pie from Cottage Pie, which uses beef. But I know here, most commercial dishes marketed as "Shepherd’s Pie" use ground beef. I don’t eat lamb, so I’ve never tried my friend’s.

@bijouxbroussard Same, in Canada we use ground beef and call it Shepherd's pie. I would like to have it with lamb but my wife doesn't eat lamb either.
