@Nitedoc The math is not that hard. A bit of algebra, ratios, fractions and conversions… trust me… been an RN for years… and I hate math. Yikes 😬

@NoGamesTolerated For a lot of people college Algebra is pretty hard. College Algebra, Biology, Microbiology, Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology is also pretty hard for most people. The competition to get into nursing school is fierce too so they have to have top grades just to get in. I've never heard a nurse say it was easy. Of course it can be done. It requires a commitment and some hard work to make it.

I have and I know that it’s doable for anyone that has half a brain and willing to put all their time as possible into study.

@Nitedoc And nurses are needed everywhere! If they have to wait to get into the program, it will be worth it!

@NoGamesTolerated I think how "hard" a college level course is highly relative. I don't mean to discourage anyone. I'm just not giving out false hopes. It is hard but it is worth the effort according to most of the nurses I've talked to.

@Nitedoc I didn’t think you were being discouraging and if you read all my comments to you, you saw where I again said the math is not that hard. 😀 Nobody seems to just slide into nursing without studying for sure!

I hate math with a passion… and I get the right to say what I honestly think after having been there and done that. 😃

My honest opinion is if you think those pre requisites are that bad, then better forget about the actual nursing classes. That’s where students actually usually flunk out. And I speak the truth. Honestly!!

* But… if one can make it through med /surg and psyche then they can make it! It is very fast paced and your very life belongs to the program.
