I always strikes me that when someone dies, 99.999% of the world goes on just like that person didn’t exist

And I wonder: do we matter that little? Is
Our impact that small? Do we all just wash away like tears in the rain?

When my Mom passed away, it didn’t make a big difference to most people.....but it made a big difference to her family and friends (admittedly a small percentage of the world’s population, but she had a profound effect on us).
Some people are famous and mattered more to more people....but they will never have as much of an effect on those of us who were fortunate enough to have had her in our lives.
Our impact may not be felt at all in much of the world, but might be immeasurable in a small part of it.

As long as there is one person that we make a world of difference to, then our life has tremendous significance
