@RuthW69 i never had the pleasure of those pleasures i was in the Canadian military at the time and they did not stand for those activities ,,,, lol ,,, never heard of a joint and gravy ,,, why gravy ,,,
@RuthW69 I glanced at a profile of somebody earlier in the 18-21 bracket who's a member of the "I remember life before the internet". I wasn't a trailblazer by any stretch of the imagination but I've been online for over 20 years now lol. Was it "Watch With Mother" you remember? 🤣
@oldercanuck1 Lots of clips on YouTube of the programmes which were part of that strand. See if I can still remember still. Monday was "Picture Book", Tuesday was "Andy Pandy". Wednesday was"Bill & Ben (the flowerpot men)". Thursday was "Tales Of The Riverbank" and Friday was "The Woodentops (and the biggest spotty dog you ever did see)"
@ArtieKat oh are these shows you watch on the tv when you where young ,, i was in Canada we did not get many English programing back then ,,, mostly American and few Canadian shows ,, and alone had maybe two stations till we got a antenna on the roof ,,,
@ArtieKat I remember when the BBC2 aerials appeared. Up until then they had been a 'X' or 'H' pattern; then these fine-toothed things started to appear. We had a 'dual-standard' set at home; you could compare the difference between 625-line (BBC2) and 405-line (the others). 405-line was only finally discontinued in 1985 - which meant that if you'd bounght a set in 1936 you could have been using it up until then! Well, in theory, anyway...
@oldercanuck1 i remember when TV was just a rumor; and my fiancée's parent's first set, (7 inch!) purchased for the queen's coronation. My kids were born in the 60s so yes, I was there. Good times but I think maybe the 70's were even better - very open & tolerant and the future was looking hopeful. Changed days!
@Really LOL you got me ,, our set was not much bigger i was three ,,, yes things have changer some for the good some for well lets wait and see ,,, but does not look good ,,,
