Back on my meds

Just a few days taking them after about a week and a half off them (I weaned down with Dr.s OK) and I feel better. I was so angry and sad and chaotic it was no good.

I know from training that trauma changes the brain and while the brain is always plastic to some degree, some changes are permanent. I think my past trauma is too deep and I just need meds to function optimally. It's like any other damaged organ or body part. I wouldn't forgo a prosthetic leg in favor of hopping even if both modes of locomotion technically work. I can live without meds but without meds it's much harder.

I knew a guy who was having horrible issues when his meds for depression/ anxierty stopped working. It took three tries but they finally found one that worked. Saw him skipping down the road with a girl in each arm on the way to a dance.

Deep rooted trauma is a tricky bugger to deal with. I am of the school of thought that medication helps you cope but only ever masks the underlying problems which eventually need to be dealt with.

Glad you are feeling better though
Do whatever you gotta do to take care of yourself. And if the pills help, then take em. LIfe is too short to be crippled with anxiety and depression. And the exercise helps too. Please, take care of yourself.
