The stories stay there. I've done that many times.
So we can have posts without groups. Then why are we forced to choose Groups when we create new posts? 🤔@sarabee1995

@Vivaci No. The story stays in the group. But you are no longer a member of the group.

@Vivaci I don't know Captain Planet, but I've pulled myself out of many groups that still contain my stories... I'll screen shot one for you.... gimme a sec....

@Vivaci Both of the screenshots below are from recent posts of mine.
In this one, the green checkmark tells me I am member of this group:

And in this one, the follow button tells me I am not in or following this group (despite having a story in the group):

Both my stories. Both auto-joined me to the group when posted. But in the second case, I unfollowed the group because I don't really care to have sleep pattern stories in my feed.

@sarabee1995 Aww…that’s really nice of you to explain, Sara. Thank you! 🌸🤗
I’m thinking of the backend process…probably they’ll assign all unfollowed posts to a default Group for indexing.

@Vivaci The post is still in the group and is treated like all other posts in the group. It is only you who leaves the group. Your posts stay. 🙂
@sarabee1995 Hmmm…I wish we could assign the post to another Group if we want to unfollow a certain old Group.

@Vivaci
1) you can unfollow an old group easily
2) you can change the group a post resides in
These are independent actions.
