What do you think about the Azov battalion's members openly saying they consider themselves actual Nazis?

What race are Ukrainians even considered? As far as I know, they're Slavs. And I mean, Hitler deemed slavs sub human, why would they align with Nazism? Not saying it's any better but plain nationalism I think would be more understandable

@wrule because then again, it's kinda weird how them, as Slavs, identify with a movement that whose original members would have seen them as second class human beings
