What do you think about the Azov battalion's members openly saying they consider themselves actual Nazis?

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/world/2014/sep/10/azov-far-right-fighters-ukraine-neo-nazis

What race are Ukrainians even considered? As far as I know, they're Slavs. And I mean, Hitler deemed slavs sub human, why would they align with Nazism? Not saying it's any better but plain nationalism I think would be more understandable

@Andromedanian yeah my point stands though... a lot of americans are waving around slavery flags while at the same time shouting about liberty...

that makes no sense either

@Strawberrry When's the last time you personally saw a Confederate flag with your own two eyes. Lie in 3... 2.... 1
@DCarey i am not even from the usa... does that mean i am wrong ?`obsviosuly not
DCarey · 46-50, M
@Strawberrry In this case, yes. You have no idea what is going on over here, other than the jaded anti-American news you see on tv.
@DCarey you will eben find a lot of people on this very site who will gladly defend flying those colors claiming they arent associated with a traitorous slaver nation

@DCarey i see that rag every time i drive to town. Decals covering entire rear truck windows, on windows in peoples homes, flying on flag poles...
BTW...i live in Northern Michigan.

@Strawberrry Did you know that slavery only existed in the United States for 89 years? Many countries and empires had slavery for literally thousands of years, some STILL do. Yet people act as if the US is the only country in the history of the world that has ever had slavery. Grow up and get some perspective in life.
DCarey · 46-50, M
@Carla That's funny. I live in the South and see it maybe once a year, if that.
@DCarey why do you change suddenly the topic ? you suddenly no longer deny that people are flying those flags proudly ? however name me some more wars that started over the topic of slavery ?

@Strawberrry Lincoln had the moral courage to end slavery by force. Name another country that got rid of the scourge by force.
DCarey · 46-50, M
@Carla From 1607 to 1776, what became the United States was part of the British Empire. The British brought slavery to what became the US, and the Spanish to their empire. It took the US only 89 years to get rid of what the British had imposed. Do learn some real history.
@DCarey getting rid of something by force other then by common sense doesnt make it any better...
Carla · 61-69, F
@DCarey the people that lived and thrived in this land benefitted from the institution of slavery. Who they paid taxes to is irrelevant.
DCarey · 46-50, M
@Strawberrry When you have the courage to fight a war to end an egregious wrong it is better. By the way, are you as outraged by present-day slavery in China, the Middle East, and Africa as you are that 89-year period in the US? Or are you just an anti-American clown?
@DCarey i am more worried that you try to justify a shameful chapter of history by comparing it other shameful displays.
@Strawberrry the usa is a prime example of that. they use it to justifies there hate . it is a common thread of all hate groups the kkk the proud boys the oath keepers. and that is just in the usa alone. i might have missed a few more also. and its in every country and it is taught from parents who live that life style to there children. it will fade away in a few hundred years i think or at least hope so . and not soon enough for me tho. keep up the good fight . mark
DCarey · 46-50, M
@Carla The British Empire imposed slavery. The United States of America got rid of it in less than a century. By the way, are you as outraged by present-day slavery in China, the Middle East, and Africa as you are that 89-year period in the US or are you yet another anti-American clown?
DCarey · 46-50, M
@markansas "there" hate lol. Sit this one out, you illiterate buffoon.
@DCarey i saw the confederate flag this morning . my neighbor has it on his truck and yes he know how i feel about it also. we both have guns. and i am a democrat socialist . he is just misguided .
@DCarey sorry Rutherford B. Hayes i dont do that very well . as you can see. the usa is full of hate and Rutherford B. Hayes tried to help the nation heal . so why dont you also help .
Diotrephes · 70-79, M
@DCarey Slavery is still legal in America. Most other countries ended slavery with a simple pen stroke.

The fact that slavery is still legal in America affects every aspect of life in America in the worse way possible.

Why won't Americans end slavery in America??????
Diotrephes · 70-79, M
@DCarey Slavers like Washington and Jefferson started the Revolutionary War because they were fearful that England was going to end slavery in the colonies. They won and immediately made slavery part of the constitution. All of the wars America fought from 1776 to 1865 was for the sole purpose of maintaining or expanding slavery.
