Oh - it's not actually a LAW, but a Connecticut Food & Drug regulation based on case law.
In Connecticut. if it doesn't bounce when dropped from a height of one foot, you can't call it a dill pickle.

@JVbigdog Two guys in the 1800s got fined $500 for fraudulent pickling.
