what are some important things to know about Colorado!

Asking as a southerner moving to Colorado pretty soon? (Job transfer)

If you are going to live in Colorado Springs or even close, just know it is one of the most beautiful places on the planet.

I will talk about CS here -

Summers do get hot but not humid. Winters can be a real pain but not AS bad as people imagine.

There are a couple attractions like historic Manitou Springs and also Garden of the Gods which is like a miniature Grand Canyon.

Drivers there are courteous but watch out cause some intersections hav cameras catching people who run red lights.

The landscape is mostly really nice, not run down.

It is NOT a salt state so your car won't get eaten alive in winter.

Weed is legal yes but you have to go to dispensaries, I think the legal limit to buy is once ounce per day.

And the rockies, they are not off in the distance, they are RIGHT THERE at the west part of town. You won't believe how awesome it looks.

Pueblo is about 35 miles south of CS but you are not missing anything, that town is basically "meh" at best.

I am not in Colorado now but lived there for eight years of my life. I love it.

TRAFFIC!! From Pueblo to Fort Collins I25 is a beast and road construction makes it a nightmare. It seems there is always road construction somewhere along that highway. Denver traffic is just horrible. Lotion, chapstick and moisturizer a must...so dry. Congrats and good luck on the new job. It's beautiful in CO and you'll never run out of things to do. An outdoor lovers dream.

Mountain areas, definitely get some long Johns. 🙃😈

Heck even the plains areas it gets cold enough for them.

Lived in Cheyenne Wyoming, spent a lot of time in the Denver area though.

@DeWayfarer thank you! I will
Be living south of Denver
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@silver1sil you'll be cursing the northern winds without the long johns.

Denver is on the eastern side of the Rockies. The wind funnels down right along the mountains.

Regular jet stream pattern. And your already a mile high up.

@silver1sil So what do you think of Henry Cavill & Would You Do Him

Beautiful, but very expensive and not worth it. Although we are now a blue state because of legal pot and California immigrants, most of the state is full of frightened angry gun-toting Nazis. Not a nice place. Great climate!

Of course depending where the area you’re relocating to, cost of living in Colorado is quite high compared to southern states.

And I’m jealous btw. Lol
I love Colorado

Aspen is a tricky airport to land in. Especially over the mountains. How’s that?

In it’s the USA that’s all I know about it
