Any home remedy for acid reflux?

SledgeHammer · 46-50, M
Half teaspoon full of arm&hammer baking soda and 2/3 cup of water ... stir it up good and down it... after about you second or third burp... you'll be feeling yourself again... I'll put money on it! Whatever anyone else tells you... try this first!

@SledgeHammer and it's way cheaper, my wife swears by that

@SledgeHammer This is good too, simpler 😉 Another remedy on my list. Thank you👍
Some lifestyle things which are easy are

• not eating near the time you sleep (you can look up the specific guidelines, but at least a few hours), and

• using pillows or the plastic things to raise your bed but only at the HEAD) to make sure you are not flat on your back, which increases this; and

• longer-term, losing belly fat, which exacerbates the condition.

DO try to get it under control, because the acid CAN damage your esophagus.
@TessDun Thanks! I hope some if this might be helpful to you.

@SomeMichGuy Very detailed and informative thank you ☺️ My acid reflux had gotten worst at some point where it irritated harshly my throat. I would wake up in the middle of the night coughing so bad and feeling like being suffocated. Now thankfully it has gotten better I avoid certain foods specially meat only very minimal.
@TessDun There has been some acid reflux in my family, which is how I know this. Glad you are doing better! 😊

Have you tried baking soda mixed with water?
TessDun · 36-40, F
@owned I haven’t. Maybe I would

@TessDun Try it it works great.
I use a mixture of 4 quarts of water, two-thirds of a cup of apple cider vinegar (with the mother), one-third cup of lemon juice, one-third teaspoon of ground ginger, two-thirds of a teaspoon of ground cinnamon, and a pinch of pink Himalayan sea salt. Two full glasses per day.

@PhoenixPhail This is worth trying thank you for sharing
SledgeHammer · 46-50, M
@PhoenixPhail what are you making ,a bomb..?
Lol
That will be enough for the whole block!
For me personally..... a milkshake does well.

It can be triggered by certain foods including curry, chocolate and coffee; so I learnt when diagnosed with it.

The remedy there is to determine which, so reduce or stop them.

I've found useful some "limestone pills".

I don't know if they're actually effective, or if I'm fooling myself out of pain with placebo effect

hot Lemon water works drinking cool milk yoga could help wearing loose clothing for acidity to pass as gas

about a half of teaspoon baking soda in about 4 Ounces water. Works every time for me.
FoolishLuna · 56-60, F
Apple cider vinegar … google it🙏
Elessar · 26-30, M
@FoolishLuna In my experience vinegar makes things worse, acidifying even more
FoolishLuna · 56-60, F
@Elessar you can cut it with hot water and maple syrup.
Avoid tea in the morning. Have cold milk instead.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
