My choice would be Hans Christian Anderson. A lonely man of great insight and compassion, he also knew that what seems to be evil and pointless suffering is in fact not but part of God's plan of which we as mere puppies can barely understand let alone critique.

mine would be Harry S Truman. He had courage, loved his family and stood tough during WWII when his back was against the wall. He won despite all odds. he was never given credit for what he accomplished until recently.
