When you were young...What did you want to be when you grew up?

How close did you get to fulfilling your dream? Why/why not?

An astronaut. Not that close; as fate would have it, I met a girl and we married and had a family. Lol Besides, math was not my favorite subject.

I was inspired, as so many other youngsters were in the late 1960's and early 1970's, by Neil Armstrong and the manned missions to the Moon.

@Maverick1962: Yeah, I am a teacher and just gave this assignment to my students and one of my students is doing a biography on him. Well, getting married and having a family isn't too bad of a compromise. Thanks for sharing.
