I'm in the USA and someone who had worked at the hospital told me that the medical industry is making huge profits from those who donate their bodies. He said that he'd been in the doctor's lounges at the hospital and there'd be all kinds of glossy thick catalogs from private companies listing the various types of tissues to be purchased and the prices were listed next to each one,bone, skin, organs, etc.. A human body harvested can be a valuable source of profits for those companies when it's all added up.

That's just awful, there was a big thing in the UK a few years ago, people don't get paid for giving blood here, it's just voluntary, turns out our government was SELLING alot of it to third world countries.

@ajoite: I can see covering the cost of the blood cause it does take some $ to pay for getting it screened, paying people to take it, storage and transporting it, but to make profits off it is not right.
