Questions about NYC Living: Why?

[big]

[c=#BF0080]Dear NYC: [/c]
[c=#003BB2]
•Why is the cost of living (in a decent sized apartment, in a decent area) so high?

•Why is it so hard to find work in job environments that don’t have a toxic work culture and high turn overs?

•Why are employees over-worked and under paid?

•Why do employers require bachelor degrees for minimum wage?

•Why is a 400sq ft studio apartment $1,800 lol

Why, why, why... [/c][/big]

🤔....I don't want to live in a concrete jungle.

@Jimmy2016 🤣🤣 it’s hilarious when you say it that way.

I honestly hate that I was born and raised in this place. Everyone wants to come here (because of the dreams they’re sold about “making it big” by just simply becoming a transplant...) I guess.

@Mrowe718 🤔...I've been to Manhattan once on a business trip. Lived in LA for a year. To many people in both places. West and East coast dreams of "making it big".

@Jimmy2016 there’s similarities in both places, in regards to the cost of living, and there being an overflow of transplants moving to those cities to “follow their dreams” however I think LA is pretty damn awesome (outside of the pretentiousness). The scenery is gorgeous (I’m a lover of nature). Can’t quite can’t that vibe in NYC (maybe on the outskirts such as upstate...as in 3 to 5 hours away from the city)

Not sure where the middle ground would be for a girl raised in the city life. I think I’d go through major withdrawal trying to reside in a quiet town.
