Reality is a construct of consciousness.
You do have much much much more control over this whole life thing than you think you do.
Does that mean you can literally poof shit into existence? Of course not.
But what it does mean is that by resolving yourself to acheive your aims no matter what, refusing to accept defeat, and instilling within yourself a true and resolute belief that you are all that which you wish to be, there is very little you cannot accomplish.
If anything.

I like the way you think. Definitely a good way to put it considering it seems, from what I’ve taken in, that people really pray on this being their only means of hope. You know? @Eternity

@hotgirlbummer I'm not religious by far but the bible does say "faith without works is dead"
Or some shit like that.
Prayers and wishes alone wont cut it. You've got to work them into existence.

I've always been the kind of guy who went out and did what I needed to do to make my goals etc a reality. I studied, I worked, I tried to recognise opportunities and to make the most of them. And, mostly, it worked!
Then, twelve years ago, something happened which turned my life upside-down. For two years I was up to my neck in stuff which had noting to do with my goals etc but was still extremely important to me. Then, everything crashed and burned and, for the last ten years, my life has been one long downward spiral.
Until I took control again. Until I brought back the guy who did what needed to be done to make his goals and dreams a reality.
There's a lot of truth in the old saying:
"Actions speak louder than words."
So, no. I don't believe that we can speak our goals and wishes into existence. I don't believe that the universe will give us what we want if we just ask it.

I’m glad you took control of your life after a downfall. And it’s good to see someone with a different opinion and some stuff to back it up. I really think maybe “karma” has a bit to do with what this law of attraction stuff is and might be to some people. But some people don’t believe karma is out there either. So maybe, it’s more of a do something good and good will happen in return type of thing more than anything. I really don’t know haha @room101

@hotgirlbummer Yeah, I've seen too many nasty people get away with all sorts of nasty stuff for way too long to believe in karma.
But there is one thing that I've come to believe in recent years. It's that, there is a right time for everything.
I met my girlfriend almost twenty years ago. From the get go, everybody thought that we were a couple. Those that knew we weren't, insisted that we should be. I couldn't see it.
About three/four years ago, it finally happened. And I couldn't be happier. Twenty, fifteen, ten years ago.........it wasn't the right time. Now, it is. Go figure lol.

I don't think you can just say what you want and it will come true all the time, especially when it's a long term goal or dream. But I think talking about it helps you acknowledge it and prioritize it. Talking about it solidifies the dream, and talking about it means other people know about your goals and can extend opportunities to you when they see them. Talking about it means that it isn't just in your head, and you can have support from people because they know what you're going through. It means people that have been there know that you might need a mentor to guide you. You're on your own if your goals and dreams exist only in your head.

Law of attraction says feel happy and always think what you want. When you feel happy and hopefull, you would automatically work to get what you want. But I didin't believe the universe does something for you, it just comes within your own effort.

I don't think that book that was big, The Secret, is really worth it regarding the laws of attraction. There is something to putting your energy out there and attracting what you need.

It's new age nonsense
hotgirlbummer · 22-25, F
Was this ever a big thing as you grew up or is it truly just new like you said. I’m just wondering because I don’t know how long this has been a thing. @Quizzical

Yes. Everything has energy. Even your thoughts. So use them and your words wisely. 🙂
