Are you a good saver of money?

Had I been serious about saving more than chump change, I could have potentially had enough to buy a home..
Like if I'd started from first job out of HS, even though some years I didn't make much. Just really squandered alot of my money, which, when looking back on it, I don't even have much to show for all the money I've spent, even though I am a thrifty shopper and get good deals.

You can still buy a home

@MrBrownstone I don't have any money for that. Don't you need a lump sum of money to get into a house? Plus I hate my job so I better not leave the family home; rather just keep contributing here,,,until about 30 I suppose. Then I'll leave.

@iamnikki If you put down 20% then yes. But if not only about 3% of the sale price

@MrBrownstone I thought one had to put down like 20 percent of the price of the house upfront, no?

@iamnikki Nope. Only if you don’t want PMI. But that goes away after a while.
