What do you think?

So I was thinking, why don't we set wages based upon the profits of a business? Like the more money a business earns for the fiscal year, the higher the wages of the workers? Wouldn't this encourage workers to give their best and hang on to a job? It would also mean more fair wages for the amount of work done and somewhat close the separation of wealth between the upper class and lower class. What do you guys think?

We could just go back to the system that worked so well before the greediest among us decided they didn't want to wait for windfall profits:

Stop doing everything you can to only increase shareholder value.
Invest in R&D.
Invest in your employees.

Of course, this will never happen, because that's not what they're talking about when they say "we want to take America back to the good ol' days".
