Drawing tips? Or apps?

I've been wanting to teach myself to draw so I can match characters to the stories I write. So I wonder if anyone knows a good site or app for simple stuff. Drawing bodies, limbs, eyes, etc in different poses and facing different directions. I just need simple stuff, just a step or two above stick figure. For example I need to able to draw a simple imp in a fighting stance for one of my chracters.
