What should I do to see my dog again?

I shared my story before and it sound a little crazy ..but..my parents gave away my dog many years ago. 11 years almost and she was 1 year old back then .The thing is I never ever forgot her I love her and all I wanted since I was a child was to meet her again.So I made a big decision .I want to go to the place where my parents gave her away and I will go in September but the thing is I need some advice.How could I look for her and what should I say so I will see her again or have some information's about her? They are gonna thing Iam mad but I need them to trust me so they will tell me the truth about my dog (people who live there) so If you have any advice I would like to hear it. I will always believe in a miracle
