I am in love with the isle of jura. It's a place of solitude and nature, other than a few houses scattered and a small village around the hotel acquainted with a warm resteraunt and bar. It hugs what could only be described as the main road (which has a peculiarly odd slope)
The entirety of that street is filled with the sent of rich whiskey from the distillery across the street. In the summer months sailors that are passing by from all around the world set anchor in the small bay. To come ashore for the pub, and its warm welcome.

Hikers also come. There is a race on jura every year, from this small pub to the three jura paps. They run over all three and back to craighouse, for meal and drink by the bar.

Also there's wild and tame goats But they all roam freely in the friendly environment, there are large amounts of deer buzzards and heron


A painting in the pub there, I will need to find out the name of the artist later.

I HAVE SINCE WENT TO CAMP ON JURA AND IT BECOMES MORE AND MORE COMMERCIAL. THEY RUINED THE BAR!
The locals are as friendly and kind as always. But they ruined the pub!it no longer looks and feels like a local, authentic well lived in pub. It looks like a boring city pub! I even complaibed to the people there and all the locals cant do anything about it because the rich guy who bought it seems to think people want a commercial bar. I see the rich buying over my precious beautiful island and trying to milk money from it by changing it to please rich tourists who have no idea. I am soo upset how much they change the place!
Although it still has its beauty i miss its old worn feeling of isolation. and i met a brazilian tourist named jura while i was on jura!!:D

SECOND EDIT.

I am bad with names and cannot remember the artists name. But the story was that he would go around from one island to the other, visiting all the pubs and setting up his easel. He would paint the local characters in the pub and in return he would get free alcohol... very scottish! :D ~ one of the locals told me the last charecter of the jura pub painting had died i think a few year ago. He said the artist painted himself also and was the one with his hand in a fist.
