I can think of few presidents who have come into office facing greater challenges (like, say, a pandemic that killed more than one out of every 500 Americans, and a predecessor who is facing nearly 100 felony charges for trying to overthrow an election) and done more to stabilize the nation. I believe he has done very well. If someone wants to have an actual conversation about that instead of just making crude jokes about his age I’d share more thoughts. But too many of these posts are just about rude comments.

@Harmonium1923 oh yeah, I'm sure Washington, Lincoln, Franklin Roosevelt, JFK, etc. had it easy compared to biden... 🙄

According to this recent CNN poll, about 75% of Democrats don't share your unalloyed enthusiasm for Biden; they would rather have someone else as their nominee for the 2024 election:
https://www.cnn.com/2022/07/26/politics/cnn-poll-biden-2024/index.html
As for the Covid pandemic, the 1 in 500 death rate among Americans pales in comparison to the Spanish flu pandemic of 1918-1919, when about 675,000 Americans died out of a population of about 106 million, or about 1 out of 157.

As for the politicized prosecutions of Trump, they, regardless of the outcomes of the trials, are a transparent attempt by the Democratic Establishment to drag the floundering Biden over the electoral finish line in 2024 by making it impossible for Trump or any other Republican to win.

@wildbill83 Interesting that you cite a list of presidents known for standing up to Russia, facing economic challenges through government spending, confronting Southern racists, and preserving fair elections and checks and balances. Just like Biden’s areas of focus. I don’t disagree.
Harmonium1923 · 51-55, M
@Thinkerbell interesting argument that the mortality from Covid wasn’t a big deal because it killed a smaller percentage of the population than some other disease. Hey, the Spanish flu killed a smaller % than the Black Death, so why does everyone care about that? And hardly anyone died in 9/11. No big deal, right? 🙄

Strange... I can't think of anyone who has said Woodrow Wilson was one of few presidents who faced greater challenges than the Spanish Flu pandemic.
As for 9/11, I rather doubt that you would give Bush 43 much credit for his handling of that crisis.
As for the Black Death, I agree, that had there been a U.S. at the time, and had 1/3 of the U.S. population died, that would easily have been one of the greatest challenges a U.S. president had ever faced.
I also note that you conspicuously dodged my other points, Harmonium.

@Thinkerbell The Spanish flu didn’t exist when Wilson took office. I didn’t think your other points required a response. I’m clearly speaking myself, not on behalf of others in either party. And I don’t regard most of the charges against Trump to be politically motivated (the NY felony charge is a possible exception—there was clearly a crime but perhaps not a felony). The mishandling of confidential documents and related obstruction of justice are clear and well documented (in some cases by his own voice recordings). Likewise his attempts to overthrow GA election results. Again, the existence records his own recording and writings.
But that wasn’t relevant to my original points.

Oh, i see... the challenge only counts if it exists when the president takes office; otherwise it's "no big deal," to coin a phrase.
Fair enough. And some people, speaking for themselves, think smash-and-grab is OK, as long as the loot doesn't exceed $900 per grabber.
As for the Trump trials, let's see how they play out.
I have a strong suspicion that you would similarly have jumped to judgment concerning the Mueller Investigation, as most of the U.S. media did. "Just wait... any time now, Mueller will prove Trump colluded with the Russians, etc..."

@Thinkerbell You are repeatedly making incorrect assumptions about my thoughts and views instead of offering support for your own positions. I could speculate on why that might be, but I won’t. I’m done here. Cheers.

My position from the beginning has been that your adulation of Biden is misplaced, and to support my position, I repeatedly pointed out the internal contradictions in yours.
