I just stepped up.

The way my folks put it I was just bailing them out of a situation I got us in, but essentially 19 months ago a Verizon employee cased my neighborhood and because I wanted a Google Pixel to put Graphene OS on I took him up on the offer. We were stuck in a 3-year contract and paying close to 400 a month for the contract, so Xfinity offered to rebate us to switch to them, and so I went to Verizon and got the amount it would take to break out of the contract early, and it was 944 dollars, so I rallied my folks by bringing over 700 of it to the table and got them to cover the rest and between the 3 of us we had the money, but sadly I only get 400 back, and now I need a new provider for my own cell service. But in response I was like I could have just left us in this situation you know. Now your bill is 100 a month, less than a third of what it was. I didn't have to help, but I did. It didn't work out properly for me, got a pixel, but it was OEM locked, and they refused to unlock it, so I had to order another on eBay and a few months later realized I like the Xperia better. I've been kicking myself about this contract for over a year, so I was ready to break it.

I will never go back to Verizon and their contracts. Learned that lesson years ago.

Surprised though you couldn't find a unlock number in certain places

@PDXNative1986 technically I am going through T-Mobile. Yet it's free because I'm a retired senior on Medicare.

The phone I'm using is a Motorola. It still has the sound jack and micro SD card. The only downside is it only gets two OS updates.
