How many of you have renovated 100 yr old houses?

I've been trying to gut and re-do my kids' bedroom for six months. Its do or die time now! Im having an ulnar release (surgery) on my arm Dec 23. So...I'm tired of every damn thing being held up! Im starting it on my own. 💪 Wish me luck and intestinal fortitude. 😱

So....no water damage to the ceiling joists. Hurray! However, who ever did the addition of the foyer and the front porch back in the day (1930s I'm guessing) just spiked in the additional joists. Those do not span across anything to give support. That is what was sagging!! Slowly but surely, it would continue to sag until it gave way and the roof would probably follow 🤦🏻‍♀.

That has taken the schedule back a few days, unfortunately. But at least it will be fixed RIGHT!

The outside walls are all insulated now! Huzzah! 🎉 🎊 🍾
