How many of you have renovated 100 yr old houses?

I've been trying to gut and re-do my kids' bedroom for six months. Its do or die time now! Im having an ulnar release (surgery) on my arm Dec 23. So...I'm tired of every damn thing being held up! Im starting it on my own.

I had an aunt and uncle who had a house in Chicago that had been owned by a cousin of Al Capone. There was a small brass plaque on the front door. Spent about 20 years renovating it and looking for Al's secret treasure. Tore apart the walls. No luck.
