When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you get up?

What do you think your younger self would think of what you do now?

I wanted to be an eye surgeon (Ophthalmologist). I even managed to get accepted to Medical School and thought I was on my way. A few months before I was going to move to San Antonio for school, Mom got sick. She had heart failure, and she needed a transplant. She was not about to allow that to happen. They gave her two years at the most. I immediately called the school and declined my position in the freshman class. I thought Mom was going to shoot me, and for the first time in my life, I yelled at her telling her if she thought she raised me so that I would run out on her when she needed me most, she was sadly mistaken. Daddy was relieved that I said that. I went back to my counselor at my college. She said good grades buy a lot of goodwill and suggested I take the LSAT. I did, and the law school opened up another place in their freshman class for me. That turned out to be the best decision of my life. It ultimately put me in proximity to my husband-to-be. After marrying him, everything was right in my world. Mom lasted five years but passed a few months before my wedding.
