Can't sleep. I have a talk with the CEO of my workplace tomorrow to discuss a transfer

We will be discussing a transfer to a higher function.
I was the one who requested a meeting to that endeavor.

I'm bloody nervous. My own manager needs me badly in the department I'm currently working in. That department is understaffed, so they would like me to stay of course.
I however have higher ambitions and have a higher function in mind.

I hope that the CEO will be open to my rationale tomorrow.

I love working at the workplace I'm currently at. I just don't like the department I'm in.

If they don't allow a transfer to another department I will be looking for another workplace where I will get my desired title.

It would hurt though because I like working at the place I am at.

I just don't think it would be correct to keep someone in a certain department because there is understaffing.
I shouldn't be punished for their lack of human resource planning.

I'm a healthcare consultant and hope to transition to a clinical project management role.

Soooo bloody nervoussss.
Can't sleep.

If you didn't take this chance, you would be 0% likely to get the position. Just by talking to him, you raise your chances. So you already rose above the bar.

@SinlessOnslaught That is true but if you try it and it fails it will hurt more than if you never tried because then you could speculate about the outcome.
I don't know what it will bring but he was enthusiast about my cv. I mean, that is something I guess?
I can't phatom that he would take this time for me out of his busy agenda if he really wasn't interested. Right?
@BreakfastGirl If you never took the chance, you would be stuck wondering if it's possible. The door is already either open or closed. You're just brave enough to check.

And yes, it's a good sign. If he knows what you're meeting him about.
