🔄 Similar Match - Bug Fix Released 🐞
Hello everyone, thanks for all of your reports of errors you have encountered with our newly released Games thus far.
We have now addressed a significant Bug in the Similar Match game.
https://similarworlds.com/games/similar-match
It was not an very common bug that all players may have experienced,
however, it was very significant in impact, and it could completely ruin one's active game session.
What was being experienced by some players in this game, today, was a group of interrelated bugs, that may have likely stemmed from the same source.
If the Player was attempting to make new Matches/Swipes quickly, while the game is still finding and processing new Matches, in some occasions, odd behaviors could ensue, such as (but not limited to):
● Blocks Swapping in the Wrong Direction, when the swap attempt should be discarded.
● A Block moving into the Wrong Spot on the Grid, Overlapping another Block.
● A Block moving all the way down to the Bottom (outside) of the Grid, or some other non-valid place.
● The Player becoming unable to attempt any new Swaps or Matches.
● Upon restarting the Game, the Player cannot successfully make any New Swaps, and may even see a Negative Score appear.
We hope that this issue may be resolved now, with the update we have just released.
Please do feel free to try this game again, and report back if you happen to still experience this, or other bugs.

I'll also mention that this game is a bit complex internally, with lots of calculations simultaneously happening, lots of checks constantly being done, multiple times per second.
The bug that was experienced, was unwantedly introduced as a bit of a Trade-Off, for more Fluid Gameplay.
It would have been easier (for us) if we just enforced that the Player WAITS, until all Blocks completely stop moving, with no new Auto-Matches in sight;
However, this would slow down speed of play, and that added wait time before you can attempt a swap... can be a major hinderance.
We hope that we will be able to continue to quickly fix any other bugs / issues that appear to users in our SW Games.
Thanks again for Playing, and Reporting!
Kind regards,
-The SW Team
