I Play Scrabble
I love playing board games, especially at Christmas, but Scrabble can be very frustrating.
On Boxing Day I was playing with my grandmother who is very shortsighted and usually only puts down 2 and 3 letter words. And my girlfriend, who is dyslexic and cannot easily read the downwards words . . . so I had a slight advantage.
Anyway, I had a word which would have used up all 7 of my letters on a triple word score. A once in a lifetime opportunity which would have got me an unbeatable score and drawn a very tedious game to an early conclusion.
One small problem, that word was W**NKERS. And it was a downwards word, which meant that I would have to explain it to both gran and girlfriend.
I couldn't bring myself to do it . . and live with the consequences. So I did WEAK instead, which was appropriate to the way I felt about myself 馃槩
