New to chess

I have during a long time wondered if chess is a hard game to learn and how long time it takes to learn the basic rules. I have saved some websites about how to learn chess and saved them as bookmarks in my browser and I have found two good chess sites, chess.com and lichess.org. I also have seen some books about chess on swedish Amazon.se I am thinking of buying.

It’s pretty easy to learn the rules.

If you want to be like ranked or competitive it takes a bit more research and practice I believe. I never really have tried to be actually good
