Yes...

The best one is "Twilight Imperium" ...
But if you don't have the time to play that, then just do "Caylus".
popmol · 26-30, M
@Kwek00 never heard of those 2!
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@popmol I love Caylus. But Twilight Imperium is the bomb. You do need the right playgroup for that one.
popmol · 26-30, M
@Kwek00 is it like any other games? i like 7 wonders and the betrayal in the house on the hill! and catan!
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@popmol Caylus is a workerplacement game. There is no luck involved, everything can be calculated. And you have full information on what your opponents are doing.

Twilight Imperium... is a large space opera. Where you need to get 10 victory points, before everyone else. It can last up to 10+ hours, depending on how many players you have.

@Kwek00 is caylus like everdell then? no it seems you are playing even more advanced board games !

nice thats a long game indeed!
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@popmol I've never played Everdell... But looking at the pictures, I think it's different. But I don't know for sure. Here is a short introduction:

For me... personally, it's the best workerplacement game I know. The board is confined, so you are constantly in peoples' hairs. The fact that there is no luck factor, makes this really tactical. It's a brainteaser, and you can learn a lot from playing it. The best player, will win the game.
popmol · 26-30, M
@Kwek00 i feel like they might be similar! but also caylus feels like lords of waterdeep
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@popmol I can tell you, that that comparisson has been made by a lot of people. I've not played lords of waterdeep yet, but people in my playgroup ussually say caylus is a bit more complex then waterdeep.
popmol · 26-30, M
@Kwek00 well i have waterdeep and its fun, not that i had the opportunity to play it a lot :(
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@popmol What are you missing to play?
popmol · 26-30, M
@Kwek00 people, the friends i play with aren't people that play this kind of game, or they moved so now distance is an issue.
theres a monthly board game club but i don't know many people there yet and don't know if they like those kind of games.
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@popmol Well, look around, there are people that do though. Just take your games to the club, or visit something like Panterland in Mol. Socialise, that's what boardgames are all about.
popmol · 26-30, M
@Kwek00 is panterland a gaming club? haha if i wasn't so terrible at socialising
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@popmol It's a gaming bar in Mol.

popmol · 26-30, M
@Kwek00 interesting, might go if theres openbaar vervoer to mol from schoten
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@popmol Oh, I though you still lived in Mol. There is probably more stuff going on in your area.
popmol · 26-30, M
@Kwek00 i never lived in mol :p maybe you have me confused :)
in antwerp there a board game cafe!
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@popmol There used to be several...
But I'm not sure what is still open. I'm aware "The Outpost" is still a thing.
popmol · 26-30, M
@Kwek00 the outpost and the playground are there those are the only 2 i know of
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@popmol Well, when I was younger, you also had "the lonely mountain" and "the world of images".

But that's been a while. I know the Mountain closed years ago. But the other one, I have no idea what happened to that.
popmol · 26-30, M
@Kwek00 i can't find it! so maybe its gone too
