Do you have a favorite game?

Could be a video game or a tabletop game or card game or whatever other kind of game you want.

To get things rolling, mine'd be...

For video games, it's a slight tie up between XCOM and Homeworld for me. Homeworld may come out slightly ahead in overall attachment, but I think I've put more hours into XCOM titles.

For tabletop games, I'm a fan of Warhammer, both Fantasy and 40k are good fun. And of course D&D.

Card games, it's all about Poker. 馃憣

For video games:
The Talos Principal, Soma (one of my favorites this year,) Fallout series, Doom, Bioshock, Portal 1 and 2.

I actually wish there was more philosophical science fiction games like Talos. Soma is sort of in that genre too except it's survival horror.

For computer games.. I love Steam games:

The Cat Lady (not about cats lol) has to be one of my favorite games computer wise. Very dark. It's sort of a combination of point and click, heavy narration, and a small amount of exploration.

Blackbay Asylum is an old school Lovecraft game with dark humor elements... has a lot of mixed reviews aimed at the low graphics but it played well for me:

And Pathologic: HD Classic is beautiful but frustrating.. in a good way:

And apparently they are remaking it and coming out 2017... kickstarter trailer.. can't wait:

@SatanBurger I actually knew about all of these except for Blackbay Asylum, I'll have to check that one out. I would certainly like to see more SOMA-like philosophical games. Still, all good picks for sure. 馃憤

@UndeadPrivateer Me to. I keep desperately searching for a part two to Soma but it ended pretty definite. Every now and then I cling on to a hope they'd make a part two like 100 years in the future or something with more choices. That would be interesting. Probably not going to happen. I just hope there's more out there for me. I like weird games and there's not enough of them and that's where my frustration mostly is.

Blackbay Asylum is great but from the recent reviews has gotten low ratings about graphics and a lot of bugs or something. But it never happened on my computer so I guess I was lucky. I don't know.

I didn't have windows 10 at the time.. I had the previous version.

@SatanBurger I think there's definite room for a part two, though whether or not Frictional wants to make it is up for debate. There were a lot of questions left open ended and the final scene seemed to suggest... something was up with the explanation of what happened to the world. That Earth sure didn't look like it got wiped out by a comet/asteroid. And there's a bunch of weird shit going on with what the hell WAU was up to and what caused it to act that way.

Add on top of that the fact that the early versions of the game straight up included extraterrestrial/extradimensional aliens in the plot and you're going to all kinds of interesting places. I would love to see it pick up right where it left off and see what Simon-N(N because it's intensely unclear as to how many attempts were made before the game protagonist but it's very obvious it was more than just one) ends up going through after trudging through the ocean back onto the mainland. See a world remodeled by the WAU and/or possibly whatever the fuck made it start acting so strangely.
