Anyone here played Stellaris?
I'm starting up another Singleplayer game...I'm taking suggestions for what kind of Empire I should play.

Yep, spent WAY too many hours playing that game and I usually made one of a few custom races (I never liked playing with pre-made races):
By default I like using wormhole transportation (damn fast even if you do have to rely on the generators), rail guns and Continental worlds.
The Science Nerd: Go with research and intelligence. If there's a way to boost science, go for it. This is my default gameplay as it works best for me. Stay neutral in politics so you dont get bogged down in wars and have to divert from your science win.
The Warmonger (think Klingon): War is honor. I usually focus on ship combat specifically because you can blockade a world and bomb the shit out of it to soften it up but you can only do that if your ships win. Go for a warfare/total conquest win
The Thief: This is one where it's all about politics. As much as I dislike this style of gameplay sometimes it's a refreshing change from trying to out-research or kill everyone. I still put myself in the role of Emperor Palpatine trying to take over the entire senate. Obviously try to go for a politics win by getting your allies to fight your battles for you.
I always keep the "win by numbers" option available where I control enough of the galaxy via colonization. It's a good backup in case I cant win by other means. When I get home I'll PM you some of my race builds.

@Fangirlsarah1996: Yea, I did play one game where the race I made was that mentality. I mean, flat out genocide of aliens, enslaving aliens, brutal warriors. The entire galaxy banded together and beat my civilization into the ground. I guess I was a little bit too aggressive with the minor civilizations that popped up in my areas...
