For Honor
Been playing For Honor the past couple days and I'm having loads of fun with it. The Art of Battle system of whatever Ubisoft is calling it is really well done, apart from a couple minor flaws that really have nothing to do with the system itself, mainly the lack of dedicated servers. The P2P connection makes it feel a little less precise than it should, but it's not game-breaking by an stretch.
The story leaves something to be desired so far and a lot of it has to do with dialogue and voice acting. It gives the impression that they didn't even try when it came to the story, despite the fact that the story is interesting in a "I'm wondering how ridiculous this gets" sort of way. The dialogue all sounds really modern rather than having any mediaeval sort of vibe to it and all of the characters just have various US accents, so it's a little jarring to me.
I'm also not terribly sold on the modes that involve NPCs (Skirmish and Dominion) because they both just turn into a clusterfuck and don't let the combat system shine in any way. Dominion is a bit more focused because it's basically just a capture and hold mode with the center point revolving around pushing your NPCs past the middle in order for you to control the point, but it's still wonky.
Not much else to say at the moment, the community surprisingly hasn't ruined the game for me yet, so that's a major plus and I haven't beaten the campaign yet, on the last chapter, so I may put more complete thoughts on that later. Anyhow, thanks for reading and have a good day.
