@GreenGoddess It's been ages since I've seriously played either, honestly.

I miss the calculating strategy of chess, but I also loved the intensity of poker. The highs and lows.
@GeistInTheMachine I don't gamble because I'm a loser 😂 so I've never really got the hang of poker but I love chess, it's relaxing.

@GreenGoddess Chess is really relaxing when you get into that Zen flow, and you're just planning multiple moves ahead. It's a great feeling.

Lol. Not gambling doesn't make you a loser - you don't have to play for money.

Texas hold 'em is pretty easy to get into once you learn the basics.

@GeistInTheMachine Hold'em is an easy game to learn but very complex to master. I've been playing for 30 years and am still learning. The game is getting much tougher.

@VSonMe This is very true. That's what makes it such a great game.

@GeistInTheMachine Yeah. The last few years especially there has been a huge increase in complexity as the solvers have influenced GTO (Game theory optimal) strategy. The best poker book yet has been Matthew Janda's "Applications of No-limit Hold-em" which I have read so many times the spine is completely broken.
